"We Are the Spark That Will Light the Fire" – Star Wars

Geared towards women, the quote from Star Wars above encapsulates the evolving journey of women as they stride towards greater gender equality. This journey unfolds amidst the backdrop of a "new" world and state of living, jolted by the global pandemic crisis, inspiring individuals to reassess their lives and transition towards a path of positive creation, shedding the weight of negativity along the way.

Despite persistent inequalities, women are fervently committed to driving change. I carry an important message to aid in this transformation through an exciting new screen concept.

COVID

Meanwhile, Covid had an impact on theatres worldwide, which has now bounced back.  "The Success Attitude" movie is in three-time frames and aimed at movie theatres, however, it has been reimagined into a 3-part series tailored for the streaming market and televisions.

Women bore the brunt of the Covid crisis, prioritizing the care of their children and families over themselves. Now, it's time to reintroduce joy into their lives as they redefine boundaries and cultivate positivity through self-empowerment.

INSTIGATING CHANGE VIA MOVIES

In 2019, at the Power of Inclusion Film Industry conference in New Zealand Geena Davis emphasized the pivotal role of film and television in influencing change towards gender equality. She advocated for presenting a vision of the future on screen, asserting that change can occur swiftly with the introduction of new narratives.

In an interview on YouTube, Geena further asserted that "we can create the future now by what people see on-screen, and life imitates art." She cited the example of the movie "Hunger Games," which spurred a significant surge in female archery learners globally following its release in 2012.

THE SCULLY EFFECT

Research also confirms the significant influence of characters like Dana Scully from "The X-Files" and "The Hunger Games," which inspired a 63% increase in women pursuing careers in science, law/law reform, and archery, giving rise to the phenomenon known as The Scully Effect.

2022

"The Queen's Gambit," originally conceived as a movie and became a hit, transformed into a Netflix series, serves as a testament to the impact of on-screen representation. Following its release in October 2021, sales of chess sets surged by 87%, and books on how to play chess saw a remarkable 603% increase in the three weeks that followed, reaffirming the profound influence of visual media on its audience.

TARGET MARKET - WOMEN 51-54% MOVIE GOERS

Prior to the Covid pandemic, statistics from The Hollywood Reporter at the American Film Market revealed that women comprised 51-54% of moviegoers. Following the release of the movie Wonder Woman, this percentage surged globally, as women flocked to theaters to witness a female hero in action. Similarly, movies like Eat, Pray, Love and Joy achieved unprecedented success, resonating with women who sought inspiration for their own lives. This trend continues with the emergence of new movies featuring female heroes and true stories, exemplified by recent releases such as "I Am Woman," depicting Helen Reddy's story. This underscores the ongoing need for progress in female representation in cinema.

This innovative concept for movies has the potential to captivate women, drawing them back into movie theaters or enticing them to view from home, particularly in the wake of the global pandemic.

FEMALE SUPERHEROES

Building on the unprecedented success of the first Wonder Woman movie and recognizing the influential role of women in cinema, the movie Justice League strategically included the female superhero Wonder Woman alongside her male counterparts to attract audiences to theaters.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, following the release of Wonder Woman 1984 on Christmas Day 2020, a staggering 2.7 billion viewers tuned in within one month, highlighting the immense popularity and impact of female-led superhero films

While women may not possess Wonder Woman's superhuman powers, many of her other traits resonate deeply within them. Through "The Success Attitude" concept, we can offer ideas to empower women, enabling them to cultivate courage and confidence.

A list of Wonder Woman's qualities is available, some of which are already incorporated into the script. However, we can explore additional traits to include in the script, aiming to provide inspiration and ideas for the audience

THE BARBIE MOVIE

The biggest opening weekend of any movie, with the first solo female director with a $1-billion movie earning a total of 1.45 billion US dollars worldwide. It was Warner Bros.’ highest-earning movie globally of all time with an estimated 65% women audience.

Time magazine article highlights:

  • If Barbie succeeds, we can expect fewer rote superhero films and more movies that are marketed, specifically, to women.

  • Movies that unabashedly appeal to women can do well at the box office

  • Barbie could change how studios think about female audiences

  • Barbie is a lot of things: a comedy, musical, action movie, not a romance, yet it is definitively for women.

  • History shows a movie marketed primarily to women, can pay off handsomely. The two Mamma Mia movies have made over $1 billion collectively by virtue of being fun musical diversions.

  • What separates a good movie for women from a bad one is the seriousness of intent

  • The Devil Meets Prada is packed with talented stars but it’s also stuffed with ideas.

  • A movie based on IP but not limited by superhero constraints—and you may just be rewarded by audiences desperate for something different.

THE DIVINE FEMININE AGE & GLASS CEILING

In the workplace, the emergence of the Divine Feminine Age signals a shift in the evolution of humanity, as a growing number of women step into roles as equals. Previously obscured by the "Glass Ceiling," women have been notably absent from influential global positions. However, gradual progress is being made, with women increasingly leading nations and assuming corporate roles with equitable pay. Nonetheless, there is still work to be done!

Then there is the steel ceiling, which an ex-prime minister of New Zealand Helen Clark, referred is at the United Nations. Unable to become the first-ever female Secretary-General, in this documentary trailer she continues to encourage women of influence to help other women ‘to believe in themselves’. https://gaylenepreston.co.nz/my-year-with-helen

GLOBAL EMPOWERMENT VIA AN INTERACTIVE MOVIE

The empowerment teachings embedded in the movie, utilizing phone app quizzes, introduce novel concepts aimed at educating women to believe in themselves. Through the movie, phone app, and website, we aim to familiarize women with tools to enhance self-awareness and inspire them to acquire new skills.

My goal is to encourage women to embark on personal journeys, embracing the happiness and success they deserve, thereby causing positive change in dysfunctional relationships and reducing bullying for women and children worldwide.

EDUCATING WOMEN AFTER #ME TOO

Having attended the American Film Market in Los Angeles on four occasions, I've gained a small insight into the movie industry. Following the #MeToo movement and increased gender equality initiatives in Hollywood spearheaded by Geena Davis, roles are evolving in the movie world, signaling positive change on a global scale. However, women still require the skills, knowledge, and confidence to seize opportunities in the gender equality space.

CRITICAL LIFE-CHANGING CONCEPTS

My interactive movie, "The Success Attitude," is designed to empower women by incorporating technology we already use into a movie, utilizing a phone app to teach self-development concepts. Additionally, the movie features modern motivational songs and a comic character, all woven into an entertaining and intriguing storyline.

MY TRUE INTRIGUING STORY

"The Success Attitude Interactive" movie is a true story targeting women. It chronicles my journey, including experiences with bullying, single motherhood, and navigating haunted houses, relationships, and workplace bullying. It shares my journey from minus 20 self-esteem, after high school bullying by girls eighteen years earlier, to now 10/10 self-esteem as I spearhead this movie project forward. It includes the continued and still present high school bullying and its effect on my daughters and the importance of seeking solutions.

The movie also explores receiving messages and visions from beyond, which have led to a deeper understanding of my life journey, synchronicities, and ultimately, the confidence to pursue my destiny and bring this movie to fruition. It shares, that these unusual experiences are okay, acting as your guidance and journey in life.

SELF-ESTEEM - YOUR KEYSTONE TO SUCCESS

Rhonda Byrne, creator of "The Secret" DVD from 2006, launched the movie "Dare to Dream," which explores the Law of Attraction mindset. Similarly, "The Success Attitude" emphasizes the concept of self-esteem as the keystone to success through an entertaining, feel-good movie for women

BULLYING

"The Success Attitude" movie addresses themes of gender inequality and bullying, drawing from my experiences of empowerment after enduring bullying from men. These are essential skills that women must learn to assert themselves and gain empowerment.

This on-screen project is for every woman, mother, wife, partner, employee who has been bullied in the past, every woman who continues to be bullied now, even every woman who might be bullied in the future. It is also for their children who, have or could grow-up in dis-functional families. To reduce this, we can inspire women to learn to create a happier empowered life for themselves – through a story on screen, then they teach their children.

GEENA DAVIS - SPEARHEADING EQUALITY RECEIVES HUMANITARIAN AWARD

Tom Hanks presented the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award to Geena in 2019. In his speech he supported her work on and behind the screens about gender equality, first for the work she has done, then what she will create in the future. Hence, this is another good probability that women’s movies will start to rise in popularity.

MAKING A DIFFERENCE - A NEW PHASE FOR WOMEN

Post-COVID, globally we have a new mindset about empowering more women as an avenue for meaningful change. Through entertainment, we can impart self-awareness skills to women, fostering empowerment, positive parenting and ultimately reducing domestic violence globally. In essence, this movie has the potential to save lives and make a significant difference.

A JOURNEY OF EMPOWERMENT

While "Eat, Pray, Love" ignited a spiritual journey for women, "The Success Attitude" seeks to embark women on a journey of empowerment through a captivating story, engaging quizzes, and uplifting music—presented on the grandest classroom of all: screens in theatres, streaming platforms, and television.

This journey of empowerment aims to foster equality as women acquire new skills, confidence, and knowledge to express themselves as equals, thus contributing to a more harmonious society. It's not about disrespecting or failing to love men; instead, it's about embracing each individual as equal partners in creating a happier planet where humanity can thrive.
